Building & Construction

Supporting large-scale build projects

The building and construction industry is highly regulated, both in the UK and internationally, and the cables used in projects have to be compliant and quality assured.

Projects across the spectrum of public, commercial and industrial buildings, and large-scale domestic dwelling plots, have requirements for connections to the electrical grid, fixed wiring, fire suppression and fire alarm systems, BMS systems for climate and lighting control, as well as fixtures and fittings such as elevators and escalators.

In the UK & Europe cables used in this industry are, with the exception of fire performance cables, subject to the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Hengwang Cables is wholly compliant with the regulations and can support its customers in identifying the most appropriate cable type and accompanying Euroclass for their project.

Building & Construction Cable Solutions

Medium Voltage power cables

Creating a connection to the wider energy grid and DNO-specific cables, our range of MV cables covers copper and aluminium conductors, armoured and unarmoured, with and without additional waterblocking properties.

Low Voltage power cables

British standard BS5467 (PVC) and BS6724 (LSZH) offer mechanical protection whilst rubber cables such as the H07ZZ-F (LSZH) and H07RN-F offer flexibility for more complex installation conditions.

Fixed wiring

Providing power to integral sockets, light fittings and switches, and embedded into or attached to walls or in cavity spaces, the fixed wiring cables are an essential part of a buildingโ€™s finishings.

BMS cables

Making buildings energy efficient โ€“ โ€˜greenerโ€™ as well as more comfortable for those who live or work in them โ€“ requires control over climate and lighting, and access control amongst others.

LSZH cables

Public buildings and those with sensitive and valuable equipment are often fitted out with low smoke zero halogen insulated and sheathed cables. Available across all cable types, they offer a minimum of 60% light visibility through smoke when subject to fire conditions and none of the toxic gases contained in PVC equivalent cables.

BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Mandatory as of January 2019, the 18th edition of the Wiring Regulations in the UK and covering Low Voltage electrical installations. Our commercial teams have members holding professional qualifications in this Regulation.
