Project Update
Khon Kaen Oil Terminal (KK Terminal)
The Khon Kaen Oil Terminal, located in Banpai District, Khon Kaen Province, spans approximately 202 Rais (32.3 Hectares). As a central logistics hub, the terminal plays a vital role in distributing fuel to major oil companies, including PTT, Shell, Esso, Chevron, Thai Oil, and SUSCO. It serves the Northeast region of Thailand and facilitates exports to Laos.
The terminal receives petroleum products via an on-ground pipeline transportation system from the Saraburi Terminal. With a storage capacity of 142 million liters, the facility can distribute oil to up to 8 trucks simultaneously. In line with the Thai governmentโs policy to promote the use of alternative fuels, TPN is constructing bio-fuel tanks to store B-100 and ethanol. The terminal will also feature an automatic injection and blending system to support the production of gasohol 91, gasohol 95, and biodiesel.
Environmental Initiatives
TPN is committed to environmental sustainability. The terminal is equipped with a Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU) system, which captures and controls vapor emissions during fuel distribution, preventing their release into the atmosphere and reducing air pollution. Additionally, the multi-product pipeline system enhances the efficiency of petroleum transportation while minimizing environmental impact. This system helps reduce highway traffic congestion, accidents, and energy consumption, contributing to overall environmental conservation.
The Khon Kaen Oil Terminal project underscores TPNโs dedication to operational efficiency, environmental responsibility, and supporting Thailandโs energy infrastructure. The successful delivery of LV power cablesย has been a critical component in ensuring the terminalโs reliable and sustainable operations.
